Makawao 4th of July Rodeo Parade celebrates upcountry agricultural heritage with Hawaiian Style. The horses decorated with elaborate Lei, and the proud paniolos-- who still work the cattle on Maui-- make the Rodeo Parade  a popular local attraction.

From Makawao, it's less than 20 minutes' drive to the airport and just 6 miles to the fun north-shore town of Paia, with its charming shops and excellent restaurants, including the famous Mama's Fish House.  With quick access to the beaches at Baldwin Beach Park, Ho'okipa and Baby Beach, Makawao's location is hard to beat.
